Electrified cloth was able to extract uranium from ordinary seawater

The researchers compare the simplicity of this technology to a high school chemistry experiment. During the process, the fabric is immersed either in seawater or in a solution of uranyl ions, where it plays the role of a cathode, to which is subsequently added an anode of graphite. During the test, the Chinese scientists were able to obtain 12.6 mg of uranium per gram of water.
